Essences are an absolutely brilliant way to soak your hookbaits, both floating ones and artificial imitations of corn, maggots, etc. The concentration of these essences is very high, and thus they can often stimulate even lethargic fish to the desired bite. These essences can also be divided, primarily according to the quality of the essence's composition, where the basis is the use of high-quality carriers. Conversely, cheap essences, which are based on poor-quality carriers, can rather deter fish. An important factor is also the water temperature, where alcohol-based essences are more suitable for cold water and oil-based ones for warm water. However, high-quality essences can be used and work all year round. Dipping these hookbaits is possible both long-term, but often a few minutes is sufficient.
